Hazard Analysis and Control


The purpose of this course is to help you learn how to recognize hazards in the workplace, how to evaluate the risk of those hazards and how to prevent hazards from contributing to accidents, incidents, injury and illnesses.

The ultimate goal of every organization is to achieve a reduction in the number, frequency and severity of workplace accidents, incidents, injury and illnesses in the work place.

The hazards are categorized into 4 components:
1) Physical
2) Chemical
3) Biological 
4) Ergonomic hazards.

Participants will be able to:
- assess hazards by identifying the jobs 
- describe tasks associated with each job
- assess all hazards within each task and rank according to risk
- identify control measures ie. engineering, administrative and personal protective equipment (PPE)
- implement control measures with highly ranked hazards

The Legislative Requirements are also covered in this course.

Upon successful completion of this course, participants will be issued a certificate in recognition of this achievement.
